COLUMBUS, Ga. --
A new "Designer Drug" has hit the streets; targeting the nation’s youth; providing them with a new way to get high. Bath salts are a growing trend; with some dangerous side effects.
The name implies something harmless; bath salts. But it's a seriously dangerous drug.
“It says bath salts, but you are not taking this home and dropping them in your bath tub. You are taking them out to your car, to the club and washing them down with some alcohol and waiting to see what the effect is going to be," said Major Randy Robertson with the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department.
Major Robertson added that these "Designer Drugs” are compounded into a capsule and packaged in a small, colorful foil packet. They can typically be purchased at 'head shops" as well as adult entertainment stores.
