Live well, prevent illness

"The American population is getting older every day.
..................
In looking at the leading cause of death in 65-year-olds, it becomes apparent that many of these deaths can be prevented. It is known that heart disease and stroke can be prevented and, for sure, delayed by a healthy lifestyle with particular attention to weight, activity, blood pressure, and diet.
It should be noted that the fifth leading cause of death is influenza and pneumonia. These conditions can be prevented by simple immunizations. These immunizations are available through your family doctor. Other conditions such as cancer can be prevented by stopping smoking, reducing alcohol, avoiding obesity, and exercise.

.................
The above statistics clearly show over 45 percent of deaths can be prevented by avoiding and protecting against the above mentioned environmental problems.
It goes without saying that we are what we do, eat, and consume. It is very apparent that a healthy lifestyle can lead to not only long life, but a good quality of life as well."
