Sarcopenia is extremely significant but markedly underreported. Last news article I could find on it was 10 days ago

Aging-related muscle deterioration can be prevented through fitness training, diet

"You stand in front of the mirror and see things aren't what they used to be. You move slower nowadays. Your body aches more than it used to ache. Worst of all, your muscle tone is disappearing and you look flabby and weak. You resign yourself to being old, and you feel as if you're fading away.
But take heart. It doesn't have to be that way.
"It's called sarcopenia," says Memphis personal trainer Antionne Scott. "Sarcopenia is when your muscles are deteriorating due to aging and neglect, and it doesn't just happen to middle-aged or elderly people, or just to men. You're also losing bone density and that can lead to osteoporosis, particularly since you don't have the muscles to support and balance your frame."
