"The 3-year-old Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas — which will dole out $3 billion to companies, individuals and institutions this decade — is working to regain the public’s trust after receiving nationwide attention from the resignation of two Noble laureates and 31 scientists who accused the state agency of “hucksterism” and “preferential treatment.”
CPRIT Executive Director William Gimson discussed what steps the agency is taking to improve transparency on the heels of its Innovations in Cancer Prevention and Research conference in Austin Oct. 24-26.
“CPRIT has gone through its adolescence, and it’s moving towards its mission,” Gimson said."
