Two new epublished Archives articles concerning the early 20th century history of Pathology and the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine:


The first is a brief history of the current Archives editorial board.

The second is a history of the birth of pathology as we know it today during the 1920s leading up to the first issue of the Archives.  It features the struggle of the newly formed American Society of Clinical Pathologists and their allies, the American College of Surgeons, against the American Medical Association to put control of laboratories in the hands of pathologists who would be part of the medical staff and the battle to make frozen sections part of surgical practice.
