DMN Investigates: State’s cancer-fighting agency funded projects of Perry campaign contributor

Caliber Biotherapeutics, based in Bryan, was approved for a $12.8 million grant from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute. Its contract with CPRIT says the company will attempt to use tobacco plants to make a better version of the blockbuster drug Rituxan, which is used to treat lymphoma and leukemia.
