Peloton may get another shot at CPRIT funding

Dallas-based startup Peloton Therapeutics Inc. may get a chance to be reconsidered for full funding from Texas' cancer-fighting agency based on two factors.
The company, whose $11 million grant is at the center of the controversy surrounding the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, would need to receive a favorable review and not be implicated in the criminal investigation of CPRIT, theAustin American-Statesman reports.
The biomedical company's proposal was approved without first going through the proper peer review channels, lawmakers have said.
CPRIT is under investigation by the Texas attorney general's office and is facing a probe by the National Cancer Institute.
