The number of obese or overweight people in the developing world has more than tripled in the last thirty-five years, up from 250 million in 1980 to over 900 million today. The figures are revealed in a report from the think-tank, the Overseas Development Institute, which says there are now almost twice as many overweight people in the poor countries as in rich ones.
