An evacuation order is in effect at The University of Texas at Austin campus because of unspecified threats.

A posting on the UT website at 9:53 a.m. said "evacuation due to threats on campus. Immediately evacuate ALL buildings and get as far away as possible. More information to come."

According to KEYE TV, the evacuation came after a telephone call claiming bombs had been placed in buildings "all over campus."

KXAN TV is reporting that the caller claimed to be with the terrorist organization al-Qaida.
