New Jean Mitchell study exposes the shameful costs of urologist self referral for prostate biopsies

"She found that self referring urologists billed Medicare for 72% more jars and detected cancer 12% less than non self-referring urologists for the entire sample.  In 2005, non self referring urologists detected cancer about 5% more than self referring urologists, but by 2007, the difference had expanded to 14%."
