UT email exchange may provide key to controversy



In June, 2009, UT budget director Mary Knight wrote UT President William C. Powers that she had submitted salary reports for the top earners at UT. See her comments regarding former law school dean Larry Sager’s deferred compensation. Regent Wallace Hall may believe this exchange proves that Powers was aware that Sager had negotiated an outside deal with the privately funded UT Law School Foundation. The following documents are the salary reports that mention Sager’s “deferred compensation,” but indicate his salary remained unchanged.
