Keeping Fit: How to best combine aerobic and strength exercises

"There are three types of exercises that address the three major components of physical fitness.

We perform resistance training to improve muscular strength, aerobic activity to increase cardiovascular endurance, and stretching exercise to enhance joint flexibility.

Because stretching exercises are generally performed in a passive manner, they can be easily incorporated into either strength training or endurance training sessions.

However, the more vigorous nature of strength and endurance exercise makes it more challenging to design an optimal training program."
