Nearly HALF of overweight people admit to being fat shamed by strangers in the street - while three quarters have been mocked to their face by someone they know 



"'In my experience, criticising the obese does not help them. It simply batters their confidence and means, in many cases, they are even more likely to seek comfort and escape in food,' Dr Johnston added."
