University of Texas System opposes concealed guns on campus
Francisco G. Cigarroa, chancellor of the University of Texas System, wrote a letter to Gov. Rick Perry and to state lawmakers expressing concern over legislation that would make it legal for students to carry weapons on campus.
Cigarroa wrote that the general consensus he has received from parents, students, faculty, staff, administrators and university police officers is that guns would make UT System campuses less safe if students are allowed to carry weapons.
