‘Zombie’ companies could be the cause of 15pc drop in company failures, business leaders warn

“It could mean that companies are not going through the traditional routes of liquidation. They could be ‘zombie’ businesses, or simply ceasing trade and going off the radar without going through the liquidation process.
“The other factor at play is that there is a move by the government to encourage the banks to allow people more time to pay back money in the hope that the economy will pick up, but that has got to change at some stage.
“Our whole profession seems to be amazed at the number are how they are and falling.
