Clearly a uniform approach to biospecimen handling and biorepository use is overdue.3 After all, without accuratediagnoses, future research is at risk of yielding inaccurate and perhaps dangerous therapeutic outcomes.4 Further,payers are increasingly demanding evidence of test accuracy (and utility) before paying for increasingly expensivemolecular tests, and journal editors are increasingly demanding evidence of proper biospecimen handling formolecular research publications.
