Texas A&M Engineering moves up in latest undergraduate rankings


"Texas A&M Engineering ranked eighth among engineering schools at public institutions offering a doctorate, according to the latest U.S. News & World Reportrankings of the country's undergraduate universities and programs.
For the second year in a row, the Dwight Look College of Engineering moved up one spot, now placing 15th overall in engineering programs at all public and private national universities, tied with Virginia Tech.
The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering moved up one spot to third place overall and among public institutions in the nation. The department is part of both the Dwight Look College of Engineering and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M.
Other specialties ranked among public institutions were: aerospace, 8; civil, 8; electrical, 11; industrial, 7; and mechanical, 10.
U.S. News & World Report does not rank nuclear engineering and petroleum programs every year. The last time the magazine surveyed these areas, Texas A&M's nuclear engineering program was third (second public) and petroleum engineering was first."
