Cigarroa 'elated' with work at UT as he announces resignation

Once his successor is found, the San Antonio resident plans to become the head of pediatric transplant surgery at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.

“I've got to admit I am absolutely elated about the accomplishments we've made collectively at the University of Texas System we've made over the past five years,” he said, highlighting progress toward opening theDell Medical School at UT Austin. “We have set the pathway for UT Austin to become America's finest university.”
