"While there is a heavy component of individual responsibility, the blame should not rest there alone. When we look at the rest of the list, many of the entities represent sources of information for the individual. If those sources are providing the wrong information to the individual, how can the individual be blamed for following the information given to him/her?
Education is key, education about the proper way to eat to achieve optimal health. If that education is wrong, what is the individual to do?
Therefore, more of the blame should fall on government policy; after all, this is ultimately where mainstream nutrition education comes from."
