Virginians a biscuit shy of earning most-obese status (Video)

"Data released August 13, 2012, by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation show that three in 10 adults in 12 states had body mass index values that qualified them for clinical diagnoses of obesity. At least 25 percent of adults in another 27 states had BMIs that qualified them as overweight.
Virginians largely escaped notice in national reports on the findings, with the worst light being cast on the 34.9 percent of Mississippi residents who earned the dubious title of “Fattest Americans.”
Still, with an adult obesity rate of 29.2 percent,Virginia finished a mere biscuit shy of landing in the top 10 heaviest states. West Virginia sat around at number three on the RWJF list, with a 32.4 percent adult obesity rate. North Carolina -- ranked 17th with a 29.1 percent rate -- just missed grabbing that last slice of pizza from Virginia."
