"If the Mullahs know one thing, it is that they can not negotiate or indeed trust the U.S. If the Shah was their servant and betrayed so badly; and if one million casualties came out of the the Iran-Iraq war which was precipitated by the U.S. All these overtures by the U.S. is being accepted with a mixture or contempt and amusement by the Mullahs in Iran...sanctions or no sanctions. Nothing of substance will ever come of it. There is fundamentally no trust."
