Portion sizes, couch potato lifestyle drive obesity rate among low-income children in Pennsylvania

"Pennsylvania is one of three states in the United States where the obesity rate among low-income preschool children saw a significant increase in the past couple of years, according to a report out of the Centers for Disease Control.

The findings - published in the center’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report - show that while 1 in 8 preschooler is obese, obesity among low-income preschoolers declined, from 2008 through 2011, in 19 of 43 states and territories studied."
